Malene Grotrian Design is very proud to support the Vancouver Opera’s exclusive Gala, Overture on-stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Friday, March 8th, 2013. This was a once-in-a-lifetime evening of culinary delights, spectacular auction items and stellar performances.  Vancouver Opera has a history of producing fundraising events that reflect the panache and style of their operas. Each season features exciting events guaranteed to appeal to a wide audience of arts supporters. These events help support their mainstage productions, valued educational programs and will benefit Vancouver Opera In Schools.

K.d. lang, the multiple Grammy and Juno award-winner, headlined Overture, Vancouver Opera’s signature soiree at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Chaired by Michael O’Brian and presented by Scotiabank, more than 400 guests gathered for the unforgettable night at the opera, one of the more buzzed-about parties of the arts season. With the company’s current mainstage production of Mozart’s Magic Flute providing a starry backdrop, the singer-songwriter, appearing on stage in a tux and bare feet, served up a goosebump-worthy performance before dinner and the live auction.
